Set in the mid-1950s, in a sanatorium, a retreat, somewhere in Drenthe. For years, the wildest stories have circulated about this place. Some talk about wild experiments happening there; others believe it is nothing more than a place for the world’s wealthy to hide away from public scrutiny; yet others have heard from a niece, who has a neighbor whose brother works there, that it is an ordinary psychiatric institution, even a bit boring.

In any case, none of this seems to deter people from being admitted there.
